Experience You Can Trust

Since 1954, our mission has been to provide a safe place for children to play, learn, discover and grow. We believe that childhood is a time for children to learn through play.  Our new curriculum is called Beyond Centers and Circle Time and fits our motto “Play, Learn, Discover, and Grow”. The lessons are play based and offer greater flexibility for learning opportunities.

Our staff has spent countless hours researching, developing, and training to provide the high quality early childhood education that parents are looking for. Beyond Centers and Circle time still has the centers families are used to. The full day gives the child plenty of time to “play out” their learning. Likewise, instead of having a teacher who must learn all the center activities, each teacher focuses on a single center and the children rotate teachers on a daily basis. This provides the child with a highly specialized teacher in that activity as well as personal interactions with multiple teachers.

A Typical School Day

A typical day starts with working on our garden. Then Story Time under the Big Oak Tree and off to feed the farm animals. After time at the farm, children say goodbye to their garden and to the farm animals before going back to the indoor classroom. Both indoor and outdoor classrooms are designed for early literacy, fluid art, hands on math, and dramatic play.  The classroom groups are mixed ages (5-8), allowing the older children to be mentors. The prepared classroom environment also serves as a teacher. The environment grows with the children nurturing their developmental needs.

Our classes are no larger than 12 children.

Kinder Farm students also take part in weekly pony rides. They participate in gardening, growing and harvesting organic produce which they enjoy tasting! The children are involved in Project Learning Tree and Growing Up Wild Programs. There is always plenty of time and space for outdoor experiences. If this doesn’t look like a regular kindergarten, it’s because we are not. We are a family!
